Session 1 Establishing a partnership.pdf

Participant information

Try to come to this workshop with some idea of your PlaceCal network. This might be something like ‘everything in this neighbourhood’ or ‘experimental music events in this region’ – we can refine this during the session if you’re unsure!

If you’ve not seen a PlaceCal site before, take a look around one. You can find a list of current PlaceCal sites on placecal.org.

The session will take around an hour.

Please let us know if you have any access requirements in advance of the session.

This session won’t cover detailed information about how PlaceCal works or how to link calendars, rather it will set you up to be able to come to that session later with the right information in place. This is the first in a series of three workshops to onboard PlaceCal organisers.

Introductions

Today we’re going to get started using PlaceCal and aim to understand the process for setting up and building a PlaceCal partnership, which you might also refer to as a community or a PlaceCal site.

Let’s go around and get to know each other, taking it in turns to introduce yourself and sum up your vision for PlaceCal in your community.

What’s PlaceCal’s goal?

PlaceCal aims to give communities a tool which works for them which affords maximum visibility to the events happening relevant to a particular location, community, or interest group. It works by using the calendars and ticketing tools organisers are already using and bringing that information into one place.
